Wow! What a place! I had this on my list for Wichita in my yelp collection already. I decided today was the day to go. At the car rental counter, I was recommended as one of the best places to eat in town. It was fate since I was kind of already decided to go there. Well, I pull up, there's cars everywhere in line out the door down the street! For me, this is a sign of wonderful experience. I chatted with a nice couple in front of me who had driven an hour to come here. They recommended the ribs. This is an old fire house, decorated lots of antique stuff. The weight ended up being well worth it! I got ribs and Burnt ends. And for sides got the jalapeño corn, pudding, and mac & cheese. I grabbed a strawberry white chocolate cookie from a local bakery. They were selling and a cheap wine zero sugar. The ribs were some of if not the very best I've ever had in my life! Burns were good too. The mac & cheese was very cheesy and creamy and the corn pudding very good. They had a large selection of bread, but I elected to not get any. The staff there was super nice and very helpful. Everyone seemed very happy to be there. This is one of the better barbecue places I've been to in the country! Yes, you'll wait in line, but it is well worth it.

The wife and I had some business to attend to in downtown Wichita and I have always heard about this place so we decided to try it. Glad I did when we first got into the place roughly 1245 Ish there was a fairly long line but it was moving very well. The seating area was 90% filled, which had me slightly concerned, but we did find a table to eat at the place is very retro Coleman lanterns and other old memorabilia around everywhere. The food service line is reminded me of a subway, but you had four or five people that had a specific job to perform to get you through the line which made that nice The wife and I both had the brisket which was extremely moist tasted very well. Glad we both made that choice I had to baked beans for seasoned nice had just a little bit of spice too, but nothing offensive. The wife had the potato salad and it was a good potato salad. I almost think it was homemade but I could be wrong. Lunch was approximately 16 $17 apiece with a bottled or canned beverage one tip if you do wanna go to this place they post on Facebook and they are famous for selling out so if you do go late afternoon Ish, they close at two sometimes they'll run a discount or unfortunately, they will be sold out for the day. Will definitely be back there with the trip just for the barbecue.

It's costly, by my measure and you get what you pay for. I usually get a couple of meals from one order. Everything has been outstanding. Superior to your average BBQ joint. All sides I've ever had have been stand-out good.

Yes, found this on Yelp as we were driving through Wichita. During week at lunch so it was lined up. It was alittle different feel going down line but it moved fast. You tell one person your meat then another your sides and drink at end. Drinks in a cooler you get yourself. I perfer ice , so we just got a bottle of water. Food was good. I had a ham sandwich with really good Jalapeno cornbread Pudding. Service is good with a person walking around giving out to go containers as needed. They are cleaning tables as soon as someone leaves. Not a Huge sitting area but the feel is good. Cute place with the fireman vibe. Definitely will stop again if in area while they are open during lunch.

Born and raised on KC bbq and also a KCBS barbecue judge and an admitted BBQ snob. Takes a lot to impress me and his was VERY good BBQ. Pork was the average(usually is to me) but everything else was excellent. Recommend the mac and cheese and the cornbread jalapeno whatever it was. Highly recommended!

So good! Like head there now while you can. They have very limited hours though. The food was stellar. Nothing we had was bad, everything was delicious bbq low and slow goodness. The best were the burnt ends. The service was on point and friendly. Our server had some great tips for our next visit and helped us with to go containers because our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The ambiance gives a firehouse meets diner vibe that I liked. Very old fashioned but also efficient with the line style ordering and paying.

This place is amazing! Easily the best barbecue in Wichita. The food is excellent, you can tell the workers put a lot of tender, love, and care into their food. Line understandably gets a little long but isn't too slow, I'd guesstimate around 20-30 minutes to get through the line. Service is excellent and it's easy to grab some seating. The inside is really cool since it used to be a fire-station. Lots of decorations and a good ambiance. They encourage you to sit, eat your food, and then get going (not in a bad way!). I'm definitely looking forward to coming again!

Fist of all, what a cute spot! This restaurant is in an old fire station and has so many cute old school decorations and knickknacks. The food is also super good! I got the jalapeño cheddar link, brisket, and Mac and cheese. I really enjoyed the vinegar bbq sauce with the brisket! Everything was so good and by the time we left there was a good line. Definitely worth it!

Here you see the ribs, brisket, mac and cheese, and pickled veggies on the side. This is hands down the best bbq i've ever had. The seasoning on the meat is smoky, savory, slightly sweet. The char on the meat is excellent, and the meat inside is juicy like no other. The amount of meat you get for the price is also phenomenal. The mac and cheese isn't my favorite but nonetheless great. Wish the sauce could be less thick. The spot has various options for side dishes and sauces. My favorite is the spicy bbq. Cheers!
